Technical Regulations for Wind Power Interconnection: A Comparison
Background
The increasing development and expansion of small-scale and large-scale wind power
raised the necessity for the common grid-connection rules. At the moment, however, large
variations between nation-wide grid-connection rules and guidelines exist. I (Thomas
Ackermann) had high hopes that a comparison of different rules and guidelines already
exists, but I have not been able to find anything useful yet. Hence, I will try to compile this
chapter myself with the help of Julija as well as a number of national experts on certain
regulations, e.g. in Sweden, Denmark and Germany. Further inputs from other participants
in this book are most welcome.
Aim
The aim of this chapter is to compare grid-connection guidelines/ regulations for:
Sweden, Denmark, Germany and may be also Norway, The Netherlands, Japan, Austria and
Scotland. The comparison will include the regulations on all relevant voltage levels, so
from distribution to transmission level. A detailed list of the contents is not available yet.
