How Concept MagnetoAir?
When we are searching for our project topic, we just came across a word MAGNETIC SUSPENSION.
But, actually that was costly one using magnetic fluid.
Later, we found a suspension system combining Spring & magnet, providing better efficiency!!
So, we thought of “Why Can’t AIR + MAGNET? ”
We analyzed present Air Suspension system and found
out, many defects of it can be rectified by using magnets & it also provides better efficiency.
And, thus we are here with this “MAGNETOAIR SUSPENSION”
Magneto-air suspension is a scale down model of the modified air suspension system. Here, we are modifying In air suspension the weight distribution of the air shock is transferred to its other parts leading its wear and tear, and thus decreasing the efficiency Air suspension.
Air suspension system is a type of suspension system that uses air springs instead of conventional steel springs and an onboard air compressor allow the system to maintain ride height and vary the suspension’s ride characteristics.

INTRODUCTION
Magneto-air suspension is a scale down model of the modified air suspension system.
In air suspension system, air shock distributes the shock of bumps to another part of the car which make them to buckle and warped with continued use..
This air shock will be damped in the magnetic field and thus avoiding problems due to weight distribution and this will be done with the help of stronger neodymium magnets.
Also these permanent magnets does not require any electric supply and almost free from maintenance. Also, these magnets are cheaper than other types.
Air Suspension
Air Suspension is a type of vehicle suspension driven by an engine driven or electrical air pump or compressor.
This pump pressurizes the air, using compressed air like a spring.
The rubber bags are then linked to an air compressor and an air reservoir.
The compressor performs the duty of inflating and deflating the bags, which is how the car gets raised and lowered.
The air suspension offer a smooth ride quality and in some cases self-levelling.
ADVANTAGES
Easily Adjust Ride Height/Level
The most important benefit of an airbag suspension system is that it allows the owner to easily adjust the ride height and level of his vehicle.
Improved Handling
Because of their adaptability, vehicles that are equipped with airbag suspension systems can be driven over a variety of terrains while maintaining a smoother ride and better handling.
Greatly Improves Comfort
Improved Road Handling
CONSTRUCTION
The main components used in this are air bellow and round magnets.
Both ends are fitted with metal plates on the top end a magnet will be fixed and the other end will be connected to wheel axle using a rod and this will be kept in the lower casing.
The other magnet will be placed in the upper casing such that the like poles will be facing each other so that they repels. The upper casing will be coupled to the chassis of the vehicle.
A rod will be will also be attached to the top end of the air spring through the hole in the magnets. This helps in distributing the load both to air spring and magnets.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
The sudden shocks will be dissipated through the air suspension provided in the system.
The design is such that the maximum load from large shocks will be acting on the air springs and beyond that the magnets will come into action.
In normal air suspension the shocks will not be damped fully by the air bellows and the remaining will be transmitted to the chassis.
As per our model the remaining (about 4%) will be transferred to the magnets. The excess shock produced will be transmitted to the magnets and will be dissipated in the air gap between the magnets.
The magnets will repel each other to give a spring action. The strength of the magnets will be increased as they come closer or air gap decreases.
Now as these shocks are dissipated less effect will be suffered on to the chassis of the vehicle and will make the driving more comfortable and safer than the normal pneumatic or air suspension.
Advantages Of Magneto-air Suspension
Damage to air bellows will be reduced to a great extend as it is placed in a casing and no rubbing off takes place.
Also, in this model of magnetoair suspension, the vibration from the air suspension in transferred to the magnet thus it will be damped in the magnetic field above and thus the chassis part won’t get damaged wear and tear due to vibrations from air suspension providing greater life to the vehicle parts.
As the magnetic field is much elastic than air, the effect of this suspension will get increased providing better comfort to the passengers during braking and cornering due to softer suspension and load independent wheel travel.
