NETWORK CABLE
Networking cables are used to connect one network device to other or to connect two or more computers to share printer, scanner etc.
Cable is the medium through which information usually moves from one network device to another.
Network's topology, protocol, and size decides the type of cable.
COAXIAL CABLE, OR COAX
Most trusted in earlier networks
The inner conductor and the outer shield sharing a geometric axis.
COAXIAL CABLES
Used for carrying lower-frequency signals
Carries data as electromagnetic signals
The two types of coaxial cabling are
Thin coaxial or thinnet
Thick coaxial or thicknet
Thick coaxial or thicknet
Cable has an extra protective plastic cover
Running longer lengths
Does not bend easily and is difficult to install
10Base5
Used in bus topology
Coaxial Cable Connectors
Bayone-Neill-Concelman (BNC) connector
T-connector is used as the adapter for BNC connectors.
