Mandya district () is the second smallest district of the State of Karnataka. Mandya district () is the headquarters of mandya district and is located between Bangalore and Mysore and Lanford direction West of Bangalore. mandya district is bounded on the North by Tumkur district, East by Bangalore district, South by Mysore district and the West by the District of hassan. It consists of seven taluks namely Krishna Raja Pete (K. R. Pete), Malavalli, Maddur, Nagaman gala, Pandavapura & Srirangapatna. From these seven taluks of thedistict expect Nagaman gala and K.R. Pete taluks, much of the country, in all other taluks receives water for irrigation of K.R.S. Dam. A portion of K.R. Pete. Nagaman gala, Pandavapura Mandya district and taluks are receving water for irrigation of Hemavathi River. Main crops in five taluks of this district are sugar cane and rice fields. To the sugar cane raised in five taluks of the district to use, The Mysore Sugar Company Ltd., Vlandya, was founded in the year 1933 The Mysore Sugar Company Ltd, is a Government of Karnataka enterprises. The company, whose main economic activity is the production of sugar and alcohol. The company is also engaged in the processing of products.
The Maraja of Mysore and establish the Mysore sugar company are Mirza Ismail in the year 1933. The unit was designed by Sir M Vishveshwaraiah. Bharat Shankar. The unit was founded by Messers Mirley Watson and company. Glassgow, England, with a capacity of 400 sugar crush show per day. machinery and equipment of the factory were imported from Scotland. This is the first sugar unit be installed in Mysore Highway at a distance of Lanford of Bangalore)
