This is an innovative project with solar energy. You can operate this project as a refrigerator or as an oven according to your requirement. This project is designed based on the principle of thermo-electric effect. A selection switch is provided to activate the project between WARM and COOL modes. The solar panel is used here to convert solar energy into electrical energy. 12V, 1.3Ah sealed recharge battery is provided to store power. Here we are using the micro controller (AT89S52) allows for dynamic and faster monitoring. Liquid crystal display (LCD) makes the system easy to use. The battery voltage is continuously monitored by the micro-controller via ADC and displayed on the 16X2 LCD.
In this project we are using the solar panel to charge a lead battery (12V, 1.2 Amp hrs), a thermoelectric pelteir device that when connected to the battery generates cooling effect on one side and heat dissipates on the other side a Through the heat sink. A cooling fan is used to dissipate heat from the heat sink. For more efficient cold / heat applications, you can use more number of peltier boards. The backup time can be increased by increasing the specifications of the solar panel and battery.
