Intelligent lighting system in the station using 8051
Objective:
The main objective of this integrated application is the energy saving on railway platforms.
ABSTRACT
In the current days the field of electronics has taken much development and security services in the presence and absence of manpower. The main objective of this application is to save energy on railway platforms. There is a provision for detecting day / night using LDR. At night time one of the AC appliances is in position and every time the train is approaching the station, then the remaining appliances will automatically turn on according to the designed built-in application. After the train leaves the station, the devices will automatically switch off. There will be a voice announcement for the railway passengers at the station. In this to identify the arrival of the IR train detectors are placed. For signaling, RF wireless communication is connected to the microcontroller at both ends. The L293D IC amplifier is used to drive the DC motor. If the freight train is passing through the station there will be no power control. This project is designed to design a system that supports RF wireless communication. The data will be transmitted through the free space (Channel), they are received by another device (like the microcontroller).
The programming language used to develop the software in the microcontroller is Embedded / Assembly. The KEIL cross-compiler is used to edit, compile, and debug this program. Here in our application we are using AT89C51 microcontroller which is Flash Programmable IC.AT represents the Atmel Corporation represents the CMOS technology used to design the IC.

The C51 Compiler allows you to write 8051 C microcontroller applications that, once compiled, have the efficiency and speed of the assembly language. The language extensions in the C51 compiler give you full access to all 8051 resources. The C51 compiler translates C source files to relocatable object modules that contain complete symbolic information for debugging with the μVision debugger or an emulator in circuit. In addition to the object file, the compiler generates a list file that optionally can include symbol table and cross-reference information. Embedded C is an extension to the C programming language to support integrated processors, enabling portable and efficient application programming for embedded systems
The AT89C51 is an 8-bit low-power, high-performance 8K CMOS microcomputer with 4K Programmable and erasable reading memory bytes (PEROM). The device It is manufactured using Atmel's high-density nonvolatile memory technology and Compatible with MCS-51 industry standard pinout and instruction set. The chip Flash allows program memory to be reprogrammed in the system or by a Non-volatile memory scheduler. Combining a versatile 8-bit CPU with Flash In a monolithic chip, the Atmel AT89C51 is a powerful microcomputer that provides A highly flexible and cost-effective solution for many integrated control applications. In this project there are two modules that act as a transmitter that is placed on the railroad train that moves on the track and the other is there at the train station where the energy is going to be saved. In the railway platform there is an AC device (bulb) that is always in the power state, where the rest of the AC devices will be under the control of the microcontroller. This means that they will be checked only when the passenger train is going to arrive at the station. Using IR detectors, the train pass will be detected. These IR emits infrared signals, if there is any interruption immediately using the RF communication signal will be transmitted to the station where the RF receiver is placed. These IR detectors are placed at some distance from the station. The RF frequency maintained by the module is (434Mhz) to increase the coverage area, the IR frequency maintained by the IR detectors is (24Khz) making it the line of sight. To drive the train, DC motors are used that are controlled by the microcontroller to stop after arriving at the station. Since there is no driver to control the movement of the train, the train engines must be programmed. To drive high-speed motors through the power of the microcontroller is not enough as an interface current amplifier (L293D IC) is used as a controller .LDR is a light-dependent resistance, ie according to Internal resistance light varies. So, with this we can find the day / night
The speaker is also provided for voice announcement when the train is reaching the station. Our microcontroller gives DC output, to drive AC appliances through microcontroller which means to make AC appliances as a programmable relay (AC switch) is used as interface.
