Migration to the wireless network of the wired network has been a worldwide trend in recent decades. The open medium and the wide distribution of nodes make MANET vulnerable to malicious attackers. A new technique of EAACK (Enhanced Adaptive Acknowledgment) method designed for MANET was proposed for the detection of intrusions. EAACK demonstrates higher detection rates for malicious behavior in certain circumstances, while it does not greatly affect the results of the network.
Wireless networks are used today. The most important fact about the wireless network is that it is mobile. Therefore, it is used in many fields. One of the most important applications of wireless networks is Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET) in which all nodes function as transmitters and receivers. MANETs are used in various fields such as military, industrial and emergency recovery. So it is important to have a direct knowledge about MANETs. But there is a certain drawback in MANETs, which becomes prone to malicious attacks very fast. To avoid these attacks you need a good intrusion detection and prevention system. In this article, we have proposed a system that can detect as well as prevent malicious attacks. The system is called Enhanced Adaptive Acknowledgement (EAACK). EAACK offers better detection of malicious behavior than traditional methods.
