The performance and emission of a single cylinder four-stroke variable compression multi-fuel fuel when fed with 20%, 25% and 30% Karanja mixed with diesel are investigated and compared with the standard diesel. The experiment was carried out at compression ratios of 15: 1, 16: 1, 17: 1 and 18: 1. The impact of the compression ratio on fuel consumption, thermal efficiency Brake and exhaust emissions. The experimental analysis on biodiesel yield on diesel was evaluated using the response surface methodology to find out the optimal working condition. The overall optimum is found at 25% biodiesel-diesel mixed with a compression ratio of 18.
