The efficiency of FEM analysis for the design of electromagnetic devices has already been established for many decades. However relatively few studies were performed when the devices are power transformers. As the transformers are high power and are inverted in oil, a particular interest represents the maintenance of physical and chemical parameters of the oil during a time during the operation. For this, we present the analysis coupled to the electromagnetic field and thermal field. The coupled analysis procedure consists of an amount of heat release as the electric current passes through the coil of transformers. The amount of heat affects the chemical properties of the oil. Due to the overloads that occur in their operation, the chemical properties of the oils worsen over time and can lead to premature aging and scrapping of them. The simulation is based on the creation of a geometric model that follows the sizes of the transformer and the properties of the material, the actual constants are established by standards. After the simulations an optimum solution is obtained with respect to the correct use of the transformers.
