The new technique uses three well-known concepts, these are: door-knocking (PK), steganography and mutual authentication, hence it is known as the hybrid port-hitting technique (HPK). It can be used for host authentication so that local services are invisible from port scanning, provide an additional layer of security that attackers must penetrate before accessing or breaking anything important, acting as a security measure for services with vulnerabilities without patch and provide wrapper for a legacy or proprietary services with insufficient integrated security. The performance of the proposed technique was evaluated by measuring the average authentication time, which was also compared with the average authentication time for a number of currently used port authentication techniques.
Port Knocking is an important concept to ensure the services provided by the servers. By a predefined port push sequence server it identifies whether the request is a legitimate request for a service. The main interest in the proposed work is to prevent different types of port attacks and to comply with all the security requirements for the network. The proposed technique is the combination of four concepts, these are port knock (PK), proposed symmetric key encryption / decryption, steganography and mutual authentication. Basically it is the improved modification of the hybrid port that hits therefore; is called the modified hybrid port clearance technique (MHPK). Improvements in this development over existing port hits mitigate some threats, but there are several concerns. The development aimed at the quality of the company will have to meet additional needs. In conclusion, hitting the port deserves further consideration and can be a valuable layer of defense in depth.
