Digital modulation is a process that prints a digital symbol into a signal suitable for transmission in a wired or wireless medium to receive that signal at the receiving end properly without loss of information. The quadratic phase shift modulation technique (QPSK) is the most widely used modulation scheme in the modern digital communication system; provides high performance bandwidth efficiency and bit error rate. In this work the complete model of modulator and demodulator of quadrature phase shift modulation (QPSK) has been developed. The model has been simulated in Matlab using Simulink. The complete results are tested and verified. In the final design of the hardware and implementation of QPSK for the wireless modem has been proposed. QPSK modulation has several applications particularly in the design of wireless modem, cellular CDMA communication.

By manufacturing high density low power, low noise, small size and reliable digital chips and RF make radio equipment smaller, cheaper and more reliable. Due to this explosive growth of mobile and wireless users there are so many problems created, the most critical problem is the frequency spectrum, Bit Error Rate (BER) and Bandwidth. In this paper, the modulation and demodulation of the quadrature phase shift modulator is directed to the wireless modem.
