Vishwakarma Yojana is one of the initiatives towards Rurbanization by the Government of Gujarat, which was assigned as a pilot project to GTU. Students and faculty members meet with all stakeholders in a village, a survey of existing facilities. Then they re-imagine and redesign the entire infrastructure of the village. Students use their engineering skills to prepare detailed project reports for the infrastructure as part of their final project work. Through the Yojana, GTU students are acquiring real work experience and are able to apply their knowledge and technical practices to a real problem. This involves hard work, many strenuous visits to the village and lengthy discussions with the various stakeholders.
Vishwakarma Yojana is framed to provide the benefits of real-world experiences to Phase Engineering and Management students and simultaneously apply their technical expertise in developing infrastructure in the Rurban area. The project is carried out under the "Design to Delivery" modality. Phase I, II, III and IV of the Vishwakarma Yojana project is successfully completed by the GTU Diploma Degree and Engineering students.
