ELECTRICITY GENERATION FROM SPEED BREAKER
Introduction
Very new and innovative concept
Non –Conventional Energy Source.
This Makes Use Of WASTED OF ENERGY TO generate ELECTRCAL ENERGY.
DEVELOPMENT PART OF INNOVATION
The principle of operation of this mechanism is based on principle of conversion of potential energy to kinetic energy and then this kinetic energy in turn can be used to generate electricity

The “electro-kinetic road ramp ”system can be raised to act as a speed bump or laid flat ,
So that driver can not realize they are passing over it
HOW GENERATING THE ELECTRICIT FROM SPEED BREAKER
The bump or breaker consists of a series of panels set in pad virtually flushed in motion under the road this turn rotate a geared shaft loaded with spring the output of shaft coupled with dynamo to convert kinetic energy into electricity

BASIC PRINCIPLE:
Simple energy conversion from Mechanical to Electrical.
To generate electricity using the vehicle weight (potential energy) as input
Possible using 3 different mechanisms:
I. Crank-shaft mechanism
II. Roller mechanism
III. Rack- Pinion mechanism
Why Rack- Pinion mechanism?
Crank-shafts are required to be mounted on bearings which creates balancing problem leading to mechanical vibrations which in turn damage the bearings.
Secondly as bearings are of sliding type, any occurrence of variable load( which is bit obvious in case of vehicles!!) leads to balancing problem.
Roller mechanism has some different disadvantages.
Maintenance will be very difficult
Might cause collision.

Selecting suitable generator.
Selection of springs.
Achieving proper balance of speed and torque.

Uses: Charging batteries and using them to light up the streets, etc.
FUTURE SCOPE
Such speed breakers can be designed for heavy vehicles, thus increasing input torque and ultimately output of generator.
More suitable and compact mechanisms to enhance efficiency.
