Introduction:
At the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Microsoft announced that it would be including support for system-on-a-chip (SoC) and mobile ARM processors in Windows 8.
The main feature that was shown is the extensively redesigned user interface, optimized for touch as well as use with mice and keyboards.
Windows 8 has a new developer platform according to a new weather application and said that the application uses "our new developer platform, which is based on HTML5 and JavaScript.
Microsoft has confirmed that the system requirements for Windows 8 will be the same as or lower than those of Windows 7
Windows 8 is the next version of Microsoft Windows, a series of operating systems produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, net books, tablet PCs, and media center PCs It Support the Platform IA-32, x86-64, and ARM.
Windows 8 Highlighted Features:
ARM (Advance RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Machine Computer) Machine)
Processor Support:
To fully support mobile devices, it’s important for an OS to fully support ARM-based CPUs . It may eventually compete with smartphone platforms such as iOS and Android.
Better Touch Interface: The design elements, such as login screen, browser, task manager, file explorer and others are fully optimized for touch interface. It was also revealed that the login screen can be unlocked using pattern (finger gestures), in the same way as an Android phone does.
Ribbons: The ribbons menu you see in the Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010 will be implemented more widely in Windows 8. Luckily, if you dislike the interface enhancement, you can revert these menus to the Windows 7-style interface.
Windows 8 to use SmartScreen Security:
SmartScreen is practically a dynamic list of known “illegal, viral, fraudulent, or malicious” URLs that Microsoft manually or algorithmally identifies. It uses this list to compare the link or executes a user visits or downloads, warning if there’s a match.
It will proactively check the filesystem and attempt to stop and downloads that are foreign to it
Windows 8 ability to use wallpaper as login screen:
Windows 8 will have the ability to let users set the desktop wallpaper as their log on or lock screen as well.
Windows 8 wallpapers will be used as well as in windows 8 logon screen.
There is a new option called the “Desktop Background” section
