INTRODUCTION
Employee stress is a growing concern for organization today. Stress can be defined as level circumstance in which people face constraints, opportunities, or loss of something they desire and for which the consequence is both unpredictable as well as crucial. Stress is the response of people to the unreasonable /excessive pressure or demands placed on them.
Stress is not always negative. It may also bring out the best in individuals at times. It may induce an individual to discover innovative and smarter way of doing things. This positive dimension of stress is called as enstress. But usually, the term has a negative implication and this negative ascept of stress is termed as distress. For instance when a subordinate is harassed or warned by his superior, unhappiness of unsuitable job, etc. we can say that “stress causes some people to break, and some others to break records”.
The pollux jeans was started by Hanumanttappa in the year 1976. Pollux brand sence from 37 year . in the beginning they have stasrted producing school uniforms only. But because of some conflicts arrising in the business they started manufaturing pants for kids ware, ladies western outfits and mens wares till now.
In 1996 the undertaking was handovered to his son by name Mr.Mallikarjuna (propritor) of pollux at present. In 1992 pollux exports their products throughout south India (Bangalore, Tamilnadu, kerla). But now middlists of India pollulx is exporting. Pollux produces 2,00,000 pcs(pants) per year
Scope of the study:-
The scope of this study is to know the employee stress, symptoms of stress causes of stress, strategies for managing stress in the point of view of individual and manufacturing unit.
Limitations of the study:-
• This studyof field work is restrited to Bellary District only.
• This studyis related toj Pollux jeans manufacturing unit only.
• This study is confined to employees stress in Pollux feans manufacturing only.
• The studyhas short time to cover more details i.e., 10 days only.
• The study covers only on the topic employee stress but not any other elements.
Individual factors:-
There are various expectations which the family members, peer superior and subordinates have from the employee in Pollux jeans manufacturing unit. Failure to understand such expectations or to convey such expectations lead to role conflict which in turn causes employee stress. In Pollux jeans manufacturing unit.
