INTRODUCTION
As electronics gets smaller and smaller they have become more adaptable to being worn on our bodies.
Skinput-a technology that appropriate the human body for acoustic transmission.
Here sound waves produced when tapped by a finger on different area.
Collect these signals using a novel array of sensors worn as an armband.
Human Body:
Variations in bone density, size, and mass, as well as filtering effects from soft tissues and joints, mean different skin locations are acoustically distinct.
They have identified various locations on the forearm and hand that produce characteristic acoustic patterns when tapped.
Sensing:
Array of highly tuned vibration sensors are used.
Employed small cantilevered piezo film- “Piezoelectric cantilever”.
By adding the small weight at the end of the cantilever can able to alter the resonant frequency.
ADVANTAGES:
The projected interface can appear much larger than it ever could on a device’s screen.
Can successfully operated such as cell phones and iPods small font and screen by many of failing eyesight or poor motor skills.
No need to see where to tap.
Can be use while walking or jogging.
