The water level indicator circuit or the liquid level sensor shows the current level of water in any water tank tank. Here we use a simple real-time encoding circuit with 7-segment display. It can also be used as a water level meter or water level detector. Combining this project with our previous post 'Automatic Tank Level Controller' will give you a complete automated control system for the home and industries. This water level sensor consists of 8 to 3 encoders (74148-8 lines to 3 encoder priority lines) with some water sensor arrangement. The coded level is displayed on a 7-segment digital display. This circuit uses a "Hex Display", it does't require driver IC to encode. Facilitates implementation. You can use "7 segment display" with the appropriate controller 7447 IC. This is the circuit designed for ceiling-digital-water level indicator. It is based on the priority encoder, 7 segment BCD decoder, 7 segment display and some discrete components. Due to the high input impedance, the priority encoder detects the water in the container from its nine input terminals.and converts the active input to active low BCD output. It uses a 7-segment display to show the water level in numerical form from '0' to '9'.
The power supply consists of a 230 / 12V reduction transformer, which lowers the voltage to 12V AC. This is converted to DC using a Bridge rectifier. The undulations are removed using a capacitive filter and then adjusted to + 5V using a 7805 voltage regulator, which is required for the operation of different
The inputs are connected to + 5V. The sensor ground terminal must be kept at the bottom of the vessel (tank). The priority encoder has nine active low inputs integrated circuits and components. In addition, the project can be improved by interconnecting it with a buzzer to alert when the water level falls below the minimum level.
