The IEEE Technical Activities Board (TAB) is the principal governing body for the technical activities of the IEEE, a global non-profit organization and the leading professional association in the world for advancing technology.
The board reports to the IEEE Governing Board, the main governing body of the IEEE, and is responsible for leading "the advancement of theory and practice of electronics, electronics, communications and information technology as well as information technology and the allied branches of engineering and related arts and sciences and technologies, and their application to the benefit of IEEE members worldwide and to the general public. "
The declared objective of the board is:
