Abstract
The central idea of this topic is to study the different operations involved in manufacturing of a “5KL SS 316 REACTOR WITH SS304 JACKET". This is basically used for mixing the different liquids.
This reactor is made up of SS steel having a designed code standard steel sheet having a thickness of 10mm which is bended and rolled in the form of a cylinder. The ends of the cylinder are closed by a dished ends one on each side. These dished ends are made by cutting mild steel sheets is circular blanks and then given 10% ToriSpherical shape with the help of a hydraulic pressed dished machine. The dished end on the top of the reactor carries the nozzles which are made up of different diameter seamless pipes. The reactor is supported with two lifting lugs. Manhole is also provided for the cleaning and maintenance.
INTRODUCTION
Industrial reactor:
An industrial reactor is a vessel, surrounded with a steel jacket for circulating water around the vessel. And a shaft attached with agitator rotates with the help of a geared motor.
The reactor is the most important equipment of any plant. Minor change or improvement in the reactor design or in its performance greatly affects the process and mechanical design of other equipments.
Identification of a SS 316 and SS304
Electrolyte method:
An electrolyte is any substance containing free ions that make the substance electrically conductive.
Detection of molybdenum in the material,
SS 316 contains 2 to 3 % of Mo
SS 304 contains no molybdenum.
Mo: it gives high temp strength and harden ability to a material.
Procedure:
Put one drop of chemical on the test metal.
Pass current (9v) on the chemical.
If it turns red and remains red for a long time, it is 316.
If it turns red and disappears immediately it is 304
Thus we indentified the materials
