The detection of an object buried under a random irregular surface has important applications. The bistatic scattering intensity of the rough surface may be comparable to that of the object making it difficult to detect the buried object. The authors study the angular correlation (ACF) functions of the dispersion. First they study rough surface dispersion ACF. It is shown that a memory line is still displayed for a single random rugged surface of moderate degree based on the average frequency. If the incident and scattered angles are far from the rough surface scattering memory line, then the rough surface scattering ACF is small.
