BUS TRACKING USING GPS & GSM SYSTEM
ABSTRACT
A system for mapping the vehicles and their speed using GPS receiver/transmitter, GSM receiver/transmitter with a micro controller is escribed here. The person who wants to know the location of the bus, he will send an SMS to that particular bus number . The SMS, which has sent, by the officer will reach the vehicle, and after authenticating, the required information is sent back .
The proposed system is based on ATMEL 89C52 µcontroller. The required software include:
Embedded C for programming the application software to the microcontroller.
-for designing the circuit diagram , a software like protel or express PCB
-Express PCB software for PCB designing
WORKING PRINCIPLE:
GPS receiver and GSM modem and a micro controller are the major parts of this system. GSM mobile phone is attached to the computer with VB application. Thus the longitudinal and latitude values can be sent to the GSM Modem. A place name is assigned for each longitude & latitude and the GSM receiver recievs this data and sends it to the PC through the serial port. this data is checked with the database and displayed by the Visual basic application
