INTRODUCTION OF VIRTULATION & CLOUD
COMPUTING
Virtualization: In computing, is the creation of a virtual (rather than actual)
version of something, such as a hardware platform, operating system, a storage
device or network resources.
The usual goal of virtualization is to centralize administrative tasks while
improving scalability and workloads
Virtualization Terminologies
1. Host machine or Host computer
2. Virtual machine (VM) or Guest OS.
3. Snapshot
Core Technology behind Virtualization
1. The Hypervisor
2. Conceptual diagram of typical server configuration without virtualization.
3. The role of the Hypervisor in supporting Guest Operating Systems on a
single machine.
Cloud computing:
Cloud computing is a model for enabling ubiquitous, convenient, on-demand
network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g.,
networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly
provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider
interaction.
Centralization gives cloud service providers complete control over the versions
of the browser-based applications provided to clients, which removes the need
for version upgrades or license management on individual client computing
devices. Cloud computing provides computation, software, data access, and
storage services that do not require end-user knowledge of the physical location
and configuration of the system that delivers the services Most cloud
computing infrastructures consist of services delivered through shared datacenters
and appearing as a single point of access for consumers' computing
needs. Commercial offerings may be required to meet service level
agreements (SLAs), but specific terms are less often negotiated by smaller
companies.
Hardware virtualization:
Hardware virtualization or platform virtualization refers to the creation of a virtual
machine that acts like a real computer with an operating system. Software executed on
these virtual machines is separated from the underlying hardware resources. For
example, a computer that is running Microsoft Windows may host a virtual machine
that looks like a computer with Ubuntu Linux operating system
Desktop virtualization
Desktop virtualization is the concept of separating the logical desktop from the
physical machine.
On form of desktop virtualization called Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI)
can be thought as a more advanced form of hardware virtualization: Instead of
directly interacting with a host computer via a keyboard, mouse and monitor
connected to it, user interacts with the host computer over a network
connection (such as a LAN, Wireless LAN or even the Internet) using another
desktop computer or a mobile device. In addition, the host computer in this
scenario becomes a server computer capable of hosting multiple virtual
machines at the same time for multiple users.
ADVANTAGE OF VIRTULIZATION
1. Lower number of physical servers - we can reduce hardware maintenance
costs because of a lower number of physical servers.
2. By implementing a server consolidation strategy, we can increase the space
utilization efficiency in our data center.
3. By having each application within its own "virtual server" we can prevent
one application from impacting another application when upgrades or changes
are made.
4. We can develop a standard virtual server build that can be easily duplicated
which will speed up server deployment.
5. We can deploy multiple operating system technologies on a single hardware
platform (i.e. Windows Server 2003, Linux, Windows 2000, etc).
ABOUT VIRTULIZATION &
CLOUD COMPUTING
Now a day’s Virtualizations & cloud computing becomes such a technology
that we can save our data secure and save. Through this technology we can
share our data from any place which is connected with internet .This
technology save our hardware and software price.
Through virtualization we can use many operating systems at a single time
.Through cloud computing we can store our data in server. It helps our data to
store secure. We can access this data to anywhere where internet is available.
So overall virtualization & cloud computing is useful & latest technology that
helpful in many purpose like storing data ,using many operating system at a
single time etc.
Both have so many advantages .it is helpful in all sector i.e. public, privet .It is
fastest technology. It is too many helpful in sever management. .
