INTRODUCTION
4G, short for fourth generation, is the fourth generation of mobile telecommunications technology, succeeding 3G. A 4G system must provide capabilities defined by ITU in IMT Advanced. Potential and current applications include amended mobile web access, IP telephony, gaming services, high-definition mobile TV, video conferencing, 3D television, and cloud computing.]
Two 4G candidate systems are commercially deployed: the Mobile WiMAX standard (first used in South Korea in 2007), and the first-release Long Term Evolution (LTE) standard (in Oslo, Norway, and Stockholm, Sweden since 2009). It has however been debated if these first-release versions should be considered to be 4G or not, as discussed in the technical definition section below.
In the United States, Sprint (previously Clear wire) has deployed Mobile WiMAX networks since 2008, while MetroPCS became the first operator to offer LTE service in 2010. USB wireless modems were among the first devices able to access these networks, with WiMAX smart phones becoming available during 2010, and LTE smart phones arriving in 2011. 3G and 4G equipment made for other continents are not always compatible because of different frequency bands. Mobile WiMAX is not available for the European market as of April 2012.

Features of 4G
4G, A range of new services and models will be available.
These services and models need to be further examined for their interface with the design of 4G systems.
Figures 2 and 3 demonstrate the key elements and the seamless connectivity of the networks
Technology Used In 4G Communication System
The infrastructure and the terminals of 4G will have almost all the standards from 2G to 4G implemented. The infrastructure for 4G will be only packet-based (all-IP). But there is suggestion to have an open Internet platform[2]. The 4G technology en suite with 802.16e mobile version of WiMax (also known as WiBro), and HC-SDMA, Adoptive Modulation and coding (AMC),Adaptive Hybrid ARQ , MIMO AND OFDM and Open distributed AdHoc Wireless Network .
Differentiation Between 3G & 4G
3G is currently the world’s best connection method when it comes to mobile phones, and especially for mobile Internet. 3G stands for 3rd generation as it just that in terms of the evolutionary path of the mobile phone industry. 4G means 4th generation. This is a set of standard that is being developed as a future successor of 3G in the very near future.
The biggest difference between the two is in the existence of compliant technologies. There are a bunch of technologies that fall under 3G, including WCDMA, EV-DO, and HSPA among others. Although a lot of mobile phone companies are quick to dub their technologies as 4G, such as LTE, WiMax, and UMB, none of these are actually compliant to the specifications set forth by the 4G standard These technologies are often referred to as Pre-4G or 3.9G.
4G speeds are meant to exceed that of 3G. Current 3G speeds are topped out at 14Mbps downlink and 5.8Mbps uplink. To be able to qualify as a 4G technology, speeds of up to 100Mbps must be reached for a moving user and 1Gbps for a stationary user. So far, these speeds are only reachable with wired LANs.
Another key change in 4G is the abandonment of circuit switching. 3G technologies use a hybrid of circuit switching and packet switching. Circuit switching is a very old technology that has been used in telephone systems for a very long time. The downside to this technology is that it ties up the resource for as long as the connection is kept up. Packet switching is a technology that is very prevalent in computer networks but has since appeared in mobile phones as well. With packet switching, resources are only used when there is information to be sent across. The efficiency of packet switching allows the mobile phone company to squeeze more conversations into the same bandwidth.
conclusion
4G communication system is dwell in many application of real time communication system with High speed network capacity, Fast/seamless handover across multiple networks, Wireless access technologies, MIMO and Multimedia support. The high end 4G communication architecture have flexibility to construct the social networking process in an effective manner to integrate the corporate , private and public network. This study provides the possible technology adaptation for the social networking effective process using 4G communication architecture. The study will lead to find the design architecture of secured and effective social networking information architecture using Hardware , Infrastructure, Software, platform , Communication , data storage service with Effective Quality of Services. The researcher aimed to construct the 4G based social network for the academic enhancement for the its stakeholders in India with the knowledge sharing portal using the above specified attributes.
