Abstracts: Abrasive jet machining is one of the most widely used non conventional machining technique for the machining of the hard material. This method utilizes abrasive particles carried by the high pressure gas or air given a velocity of 150-300 m/s. when this high velocity steam of gas impinges on the material to be cut, it removed by erosion or chipping action of the abrasive particles. Most of hard materials can be machined by this process the main advantage of this process is we do not need to have hard tool for the machining. In conventional machining process we need the tool harder than the material to be cut. But in abrasive jet machining we are using high velocity abrasive to cut the material. So there is no need of hard tool material. Commercially available abrasive jet machines are very costly as there are many small scale industries are not able to invest large amount of money to purchase this type of machineries. Our project is an attempt to provide this technique at very low and affordable price to the small scale industries.
