ARM Based Vehicle Tracking & Security System
ARM Based.pptx (Size: 255.5 KB / Downloads: 7)
PROBLEM DEFINITION
The document intends to throw light on the situation we all face in our daily lives. As we all know with increasing cost of the vehicles the major issue that bothers the customers is the safety of their vehicles and thus comes the idea of tracking it and alerting the customer when the vehicle falls into wrong hands.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
The basic working of the project is depicted in the figure above. Initially the vehicle unit is set up with various feeds and actuators required to control the vehicle. The GPS and GSM modules are calibrated for their operations. The GSM module is activated using a SIM card provided from any Service Provider. Once the GSM module is activated using the SIM card a link has to be established between the customer end device and the vehicle unit. A coded text is used as a form of authorization and this authorization can be on-time activation or can be availed each time the user needs to access the vehicle information. Once the link is established the system can be put online using the Data Logging facility of the GPRS service on the SIM card or the vehicle information can be communicated in the form of SMS from the vehicle unit to the customer end device. Since the communication used is a two-way link the customer can control the vehicle using the coded text messages that is provided to the user during the authorization phase and thus the user will be allowed to track and control the vehicle.
ADVANTAGES
Global connectivity feature of the GSM solves the range limitation problem
Using ARM based controller reduces power consumption of the Unit and thus increasing the efficiency when compared to other devices
Solves the security aspect of the customer’s asset
The GPS based device can also be used for navigation purpose
FUTURE WORK
In Future we work for the improvement of
Long Distance (1000km) tracking and controlling of the system.
Controlling the speed of the vehicle i.e., we can limit the speed of the vehicle.
