1. A square pyramid of side of base 40 mm and axis 50 mm long, rests with its base
on the ground plane such that all the edges of the base are equally inclined to the
PP. One of the corners of the base is touching the PP. The station point is 60 mm
in front of the PP, 80 mm above the ground plane and lies in a central plane which
passes through the axis of the pyramid. Draw the perspective view. [16]
2. A hexagonal pyramid of side 40 mm and axis 65 mm long rests on its base in HP
with one of its base edges parallel to VP. It is sectioned by a plane, inclined at
450 to HP and perpendicular to VP, such that the sectioning plane cuts it in its
left-half and passes through the extreme left corner of the base. Develop its lateral
surface. [16]
3. Draw the isometric view of the object whose orthographic projections are given in
gure 3. All dimensions are in mm.
4. A hole of 25 mm diameter is drilled in a cone having 75 mm diameter of base and
60 mm height. The axis of the hole is parallel to that of the cone and 6 mm away
from it. Draw the projections when a vertical plane containing the two axes is
inclined at 450 to the VP. [16]
5. Draw the following views of the ink bottle given in gure 5. All dimensions are in
mm.
(a) Front View
(b) Top View and
© Side View.
6. A helical spring is made up of 1000 mm long bar of cross-section 15 mm 15 mm.
The outside diameter of the spring is to be 120 mm. With the material available
21
2 turns are possible. Plot the above helical spring. [16]
7. In a hexagonal plate of 40 mm side a hole of 40 mm diameter is drilled centrally.
Draw the projections when the plate is resting on a corner in HP and the surface
of the plate inclined at 300 to VP. [16]
8. The projectors drawn from the ends of a straight line AB are 70 mm apart, while
those drawn from its HT and VT are 120 mm apart. VT is 100 mm above HP and
VT is 90 mm infront of VP. Nearest end of the line is 10 mm above HP. Draw the
projections of the line and nd its true length and inclinations with the reference
planes. [16]
