INTRODUCTION
CAREER:
A Career has been defined as the sequence of a person's experiences on different jobs over the period of time. It is viewed as fundamentally a relationship between one or more organizations and the individual. To some a career is a carefully worked out plan for self advancement to others it is a calling-life role to others it is a voyage to self discovery and to still others it is life itself.
A career can also be said as a sequence of positions/jobs held by a person during the course of his working life.
According to Edwin. B. Filippo, “A career is a sequence of separate but related work activities that provide continuity, order and meaning to a person’s life”.
According to Garry Dessler, “The occupational positions a person has had over many years”.
Many of today's employees have high expectations about their jobs. There has been a general increase in the concern of the quality of life. Workers expect more from their jobs than just income. A further impetus to career planning is the need for organizations to make the best possible use of their most valuable resources the people in a time of rapid technological growth and change.
CAREER DEVELOPMENT
Career development, both as a concept and a concern is of recent origin. The reason for this lack of concern regarding career development for a long time has been the careless, unrealistic assumption about employees functioning smoothly along the right lines, and the belief that the employees guide themselves in their careers. Since the employees are educated, trained for the job, and appraised, it is felt that the development fund on is over. Modern personnel administration has to be futuristic, it has to look beyond the present tasks, since neither the requirements of the organisation nor the attitudes and abilities of employees are constant. It is too costly to leave 'career' to the tyranny of time and casualty of circumstances, for it is something which requires to be handled carefully through systematisation and professional promoting. Fortunately, there has lately been some appreciation of the value of career planning and acceptance of validity of career development as a major input in organisational development.
Career development refers to set of programs designed to match an individual’s needs, abilities, and career goals with current and future opportunities in the organization. Where career plan sets career path for an employee, career development ensures that the employee is well developed before he or she moves up the next higher ladder in the hierarchy.

RESEARCH DESIGN
A research design is the specification of methods and procedure for acquiring the information needed. It is the over – all operation patterns or framework of the project that stipulates what information is to be collected from which source by what procedure, it is also refers to the blue print of the research process.
The research design used in this study is descriptive in nature. It is designed to describe something. It deals with determining the frequency with which something occurs. The descriptive study is rigid and normal.
1 INDUSTRY PROFILE
Cooking oil is purified fat of plant origin, which is usually liquid at room temperature (saturated oils such as coconut and palm are more solid at room temperature than some of the many different kinds of edible vegetable oils include: olive oil, palm oil, soybean oil, canola oil, pumpkin seed oil, corn oil, sunflower oil, safflower oil, peanut oil, grape seed oil, sesame oil, organ oil and rice bran oil. Many other kinds of vegetable oils are also used for cooking.
The generic term "vegetable oil" when used to label a cooking oil product may refer to a specific oil (such as rapeseed oil) or may refer to a blend of a variety of oils often based on palm, corn, soybean or sunflower oils.
Oil can be flavored by immersing aromatic food stuffs such as fresh herbs, peppers, garlic and so forth in the oil for a period of time. However, care must be taken when storing flavored oils to prevent the growth of Clostridium botulinum (the bacteria that produces toxins that can lead to botulism).
The appropriate amount of fat as a component of daily food consumption is the topic of some controversy. Some fat is required in the diet, and fat (in the form of oil) is also essential in many types of cooking. The FDA recommends that 30% or less of calories consumed daily should be from fat. Other nutritionists recommend that no more than 10% of a person's daily calories come from fat. In extremely cold environments, a diet that is up to two-thirds fat is acceptable and can, in fact, be critical to survival.
While consumption of small amounts of saturated fats is essential, initial meta-analyses (1997, 2003) found a high correlation between high consumption of such fats and coronary heart disease. Surprisingly, however, more recent meta-analyses (2009, 2010), based on cohort studies and on controlled, randomized trials, find a positive or neutral effect from shifting consumption from carbohydrate to saturated fats as a source of calorie and only a modest advantage for shifting from saturated to polyunsaturated fats (10% lower risk for 5% replacement).
STORING AND KEEPING OIL
Whether refined or not, all oils are sensitive to heat, light, and exposure to oxygen. Rancid oil has an unpleasant aroma and acrid taste, and its nutrient value is greatly diminished. To delay the development of rancid oil, a blanket of an inert gas, usually nitrogen, is applied to the vapor space in the storage container immediately after production. This is referred to as tank blanketing. Vitamin E oil is a natural antioxidant that can also be added to cooking oils to prevent acidification.
All oils should be kept in a cool, dry place. Oils may thicken, they will soon return to liquid if they stand at room temperature. To prevent negative effects of heat and light, oils should be removed from cold storage just long enough for use. Refined oils high in monounsaturated fats keep up to a year (olive oil will keep up to a few years), while those high in polyunsaturated fats keep about six months. Extra-virgin and virgin olive oils keep at least 9 months after opening. Other monounsaturated oils keep well up to eight months, while unrefined polyunsaturated oils will keep only about half as long.
In contrast, saturated oils, such as coconut oil and palm oil, have much longer shelf lives and can be safely stored at room temperature. Their lack of polyunsaturated content causes them to be more stable.
SUNFLOWER OIL
Sunflower oil is the non-volatile oil expressed from sunflower (Helianthus annulus) seeds. Sunflower oil is commonly used in food as a frying oil, and in cosmetic formulations as an emollient.
COMPOSITION
Sunflower oil contains predominantly linoleic acid in triglyceride form. The British Pharmacopoeia lists the following profile:
• Palmitic acid : 4 - 9%
• Stearic acid : 1 - 7%
• Oleic acid : 14 - 10%
• Linoleic acid : 48 - 74%
There are several types of sunflower oils produced, such as high linoleic, high oleic and mid oleic. Mid linoleic sunflower oil typically has at least 69% linoleic acid. High oleic sunflower oil has at least 82% oleic acid. Variation in unsaturated fatty acids profile is strongly influenced by both genetics and climate. In the last decade, high stearic sunflower lines have been developed in Spain to avoid the use of partially hydrogenated vegetable oils in the food industry.
5 CONCLUSION
“The most important capital any economy possesses is in the skills which people carry around in their heads”, says M. J. RATHBONE
Career planning and development programs, as we find from the study, plays crucial role in employee as well as organizations development. Career planning is an integral part of every organization. It motivates and inspires employees to work even harder and keeps them loyal towards the organization. Career planning helps an employee know the career opportunities available in organization. This knowledge enables the employee to select the career most suitable to his potential and this helps to improve employee’s morale and productivity. On the basis questionnaire and personal interviews with the employees, it was found that employees prefer sound appreciation as well as proper training. Because of monotonous task, more stress and frustration at work place the organization needs to handle carefully the careers of most valuable asset that is the People.
On the whole, it was worthwhile to choose such an interesting topic for research work, which is not only important for an employee but also for the employer. It guides the one who wants to make a stable and successful career and get enough chances of advancement in career. Also, this study implicitly reveals that the career development prospects at SVS OIL LTD are progressively high.
