Abstracts: A Web Content Management System is an easy to use tool which stays behind a dynamic website and is normally used by content creators or editors to add / maintain the content of a website. A Web Content Management system provides website authorization, collaboration and administration tools which are designed for the users who have feeble knowledge in web programming languages to manage their websites. In today’s scenario, CMS systems are essential for efficient Web Site development. Right from launching a site, managing its content to keeping it updated, a CMS makes the whole task a lot easier. Currently a lot of Content Management Systems are available but not many are based on Java. And those that are based on Java are mostly proprietary, or difficult to understand or use. Thus, through this project, we aim to create a Web CMS using the Java programming language, and its underlying technologies such as JSP, Servlets, etc. It would be as intuitive and easy-to-use as possible, so that novice / non-technical users with little or no programming knowledge can use it with ease. The whole system will use Open Source tools/software, making the system as flexible as possible and available to a large number of users.
