Abstracts: The Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) is increasingly used in automotive applications. It has an advantage over conventional automatic transmissions, with respect to the large transmission ratio coverage and absence of comfort issues related to shifting events. This enables the engine to operate at more economic operating points. For this reason, CVT equipped cars are more economical than cars equipped with planetary gear automatic transmissions. Various type of machine tool drive are used in different machine. In belt and pulley type machine tool drive it have only limited 4 to 6 gear ratio so it produce only 4 to 6 rotational speed. When the speed of the spindle change it is necessary to stop the machine. This problem we can solve with the use of CVT in place of belt and pulley drive. CVT cover all the advantages of the belt and pulley drive. CVT has infinite number of gear ratio and it provide smooth gear changing without stopping the machine.
