ABSTRACT
Using graphic LCD in a project gives it really a good look and flexibility of displaying different characters and shapes. But, the graphic LCDs are quite costly. The general 16/2 LCD provides a really low-cost solution to add a small graphic display into your project and also good for learning purpose. The LCD is SPI bus compatible, saving many pins for other uses. It operates at5v.
In this project we will interface 16/2 LCD with AVR Series microcontroller by using SPI bus protocol. The DS1307 Serial Real Time Clock, which incorporates a 2-wire serial interface, can be controlled using an AVR series compatible microcontroller. The 2-wire handshaking is handled by low-level drivers. In this application reading Time from DS1307 and displaying time on 16/2 Lcd , which are discussed in this application.
