Abstracts: As there is massive rise in amount of pollutants such as NOx, CO, CO2 emitted in atmosphere due to burning of carbonaceous fuel in I.C engines. The worst thing about vehicular pollution is that it cannot be avoided as the emissions are emitted at the near-ground level where we breathe. Pollution from vehicles gets reflected in increased mortality and morbidity and is revealed through symptoms like cough, headache, nausea, irritation of eyes, various bronchial problems and visibility. So by injecting water in the I.C. Engine exhaust temperature of the exhaust is reduced and so some pollutants get reacted with water and we get reduction in the amount of harmful gases like CO2, NO, etc and the maximum change which we obtain is in the emission in NO. So after injecting water in the silencer CO2 changes to H2CO3. As water cannot be directly injected into the silencer as it can damage the silencer and create problems of corrosion and it may also damage catalytic converter so the life of silencer is reduced due to this so it would be better to inject the water in extended silencer and it will be adjustable and changeable. As water injection creates problem to silencer so injection of water vapour can also be done so that silencer life can be increased and reduce maintenance.
