Abstracts: In this thesis, the Finite Element Method of structural analysis is used to investigate and compare the performance of several strain-based elements. We have analyzed 2D structural problems in beam theory by using Euler’s and Timoshenko’s formulas for element 1 and 2.We have calculated deflections for Point Load in Cantilever Beam by varying depth of beam. Results are expressed as the ratio of computed value (MATLAB) to the value given by beam theory.
