Refrigerant flow characteristics of electronic expansion valve based on thermodynamic analysis and experiment
ABSTRACT
This paper presents the mass flow correlation for R 134 a through an EEV is developed from extensive experimental data. EEV mass flow co-efficient are defined by two combined non-dimensional parameters. The experimental results for the mass flow co-efficient show that the defined non-dimensional parameters can describe well flow characteristics in EEV. The proposed flow co-efficient correlation for R 134a is identified with a linear regression analysis of a large amount of the experimental data, having a maximum error 6.8 %. The uncertainty analysis shows that the correlation has an acceptable robustness over wide range of EEV operating conditions.
