Abstracts: This is an industrial defined problem related to Thermal Power Plant, specifically in the condenser of the steam condensing cycle at Sikka. G.S.E.C.L, Sikka Thermal Power Station, at Sikka, district Jamnagar, is one among old power plants of G.S.E.C.L. The vacuum formed in the steam condenser keeps on varying with the availability of cooling water in the condenser. Since the steam condensing cycle is an open cooling cycle, at low tide, the availability of water, i.e., level of cooling water in the C.W. forbay sump reduces below the desired operating level required for the C. W. Pump to work. This phenomenon directly affects the vacuum formation in the condenser as well as to the efficiency and steam consumption of the plant. In this project we will study & analyze this particular problem and try to provide some solution which might be helpful to the firm technically as well as economically.
