INTRODUCTION
A new born baby needs high care to have good health. Higher care should be taken round the clock. This system implements an automated system which monitors the environmental conditions around baby and keeps those within the limit.
The sensors are used to measure parameters like temperature, humidity and oxygen content. Based on the weight of the baby, various parameters are fixed, if the measure values exceed to fixed limit immediate action will be taken.
Functional Description:
In our project some parameters temperature, humidity of the baby incubator are controlled according to the weight of the baby.
All sensors to measure parameters are connected to the ADC 0809 and intern the output of the ADC is interfaced to the microcontroller which will perform the whole operation of measuring and controlling.
To measure the weight we are using force sensor, the resistance of the sensor changes according to the force on it. This change in resistance is converted into change in voltage which is applied to the input of the ADC so the ADC will give different digital o/p according to the weight.
Then according to the weight, the temperature is controlled by turning ON and OFF the bulb to increase and decrease the temperature to maintain the standard temperature.
Here thermister is used to measure the temperature, as there is a change in temperature, the resistance changes accordingly the input voltage to the ADC also changes, then controller reads the o/p ADC then it calibrates to temperature, then it will check with the standard value, then if the temperature is to be increased it will turn on the bulb or else it will turn off the bulb.
Like this to measure the humidity we are using humidity sensor, and this sensor will give direct o/p as a voltage according to the percentage of the humidity, then after converting to the digital value using ADC then the controller will turn on and off the fan to maintain the humidity.
And also we are showing the measurement of oxygen, by simulating that with again the change in resistance, here we are using the potential divider, and the o/p is applied to ADC, then ADC will give some range of digital value and this rage is calibrated to the percentage, if it is less than 50%, the system will indicate that by turning on RED led or if it is more than 50%, will be indicated by the green led.
And while measuring all the parameters they are displayed on the LCD.
