GENERAL GUIDELINES
(a) Overall about SIP
The SIP is the general research kind of job to get the feel about the possible type of business
operations. Hence that should include the information of all most all functional areas of
organization like production, marketing, finance, HR, CRM, SCM, Logistics Management,
MIS, ERP, International Business, etc.
Since you are put on your practical learning process of the business operations of your
selected company, you would be more beneficial than the organization in which you have
started your SIP.
Considering this fact, it may be little bit difficult for you to get the expected cooperation and
response from people with whom you are working in that organization.
As soon as you get the approval from the company, a permission letter must be submitted to
the respective project guides from the organization to the institution.
SIP is the platform as well as the entry door for the beginning of your professional career.
Till the end of your formal learning & study process of two semesters i.e. 50 % of the
Masters’ Programme; you have undergone through the basics and fundamental knowledge
gaining process about the business operation.
While SIP enables you to experiment and apply your incomplete knowledge and inexact
skills of business management in the practical work process.
In one organization, more than one student could undergo for this Summer Internship
Project. Here, their reports should not be copied from each other, but every student has to
prepare his / her report on himself only. And their area of Research (Functional Area also)
must be completely different from each other.
After you start your SIP
The duration of this summer training must be at least 6 weeks or more than that but less than
10 weeks.
Keeping in your mind the future benefits of SIP, always put your efforts at the optimum
level of your knowledge and skills to learn as maximum as possible within your training
duration in that organization.
In this situation, what you should require to do is as under.
1. The first most required thing is to change your impression as a ‘STUDENT to A
PROFESSIONAL LEARNER’ among the people of the concern organization.
2. Rather than asking anybody to give information about anything, you should start
showing your keen interest of doing any kind of work and accepting challenges.
3. Rather than expecting your colleagues or reporting officer to give you any information
from their end, better you try to get them in a comfort zone to help you getting maximum
information.
