1. (a) Explain CE Configuration and also its input and output characteristics.
(b) With help of neat diagram, explain the different current components for a p-n-p transistor. Define
β and find relationship between α and β.
2. (a) Compare CE, CB and CC configurations of a transistor in terms of current gain, voltage gain,
input impedance and output impedance.
(b) Calculate the voltage gain of a single transistor amplifier circuit, if collector end load RL = 2 kΩ, input resistance Ri = 1 kΩ and current gain is 50.
3. (a) Describe construction and characteristics of JFETs.
(b) Discuss the various types of biasing circuits used in JFET amplifiers.
4. (a) What is significant differences between construction of an enhancement mode type MOSFET and
Depletion type MOSFET? Explain with suitable diagrams.
(b) The difference mode gain of an op-amp is 66 dB and CMRR is 40 dB, calculate the total output voltage and error in the differential output signal due to presence of the common mode signal.
