Abstracts: Image Processing Based Smart Courier System is an application in which couriers and parcels are separated according to their destination with the help of Pin code. In contemporary scenario, approximately 6.1 million couriers and parcels are being handled manually by workers in one day. This conventional system consumes more manpower, time and prone of error. In proposed Courier System, with the help of the Pin code feature, parcels and couriers are classified according to their states, district or area. In this scheme, parcel or courier is placed on the conveyor belt and with the help of the camera; picture of whole parcel is taken. Then this image is sent to the PC in which LabVIEW platform is installed. With the help of the LabVIEW, needed image processing functions are applied on to the captured image and Pin code is identified. Appropriate signals according to detected Pin code are then generate through serial port. These signals are sent to the Microcontroller, which is programmed to run a mechanical assembly that classifies parcels according to their Pin code. This prototype is intended to separate out different courier and parcels according to their destination much more accurately, efficiently and cost effectively in less time.
