Abstracts: Today Automation world demands high working performance clutches. Manufacturing Companies are in competition for developing High Performance Clutches. The clutch assembly interrupts the power flow between the engine and the transmission when the vehicle is brought to a stop with the engine running and when shifting gears. An automotive clutch normally provides depend-able service for thousands of miles. However, stop and go traffic will wear out a clutch quicker than highway driving. Every time a clutch is engaged, the clutch disc and other components are subjected to considerable heat, friction, and wear. A pressure plate is one of the most important parts of clutch assembly. It is main component of clutch assembly to transmit power from engine output shaft to gear box. To achieve higher efficiency of clutch, role of pressure plate is important, where pressure plate helps to increase torque capacity, co-efficient of friction and moment of inertia. By improving design of pressure plate with help of different technology, we can improve working efficiency of clutch.
