Entrepreneurship Orientation Program (EOP)
In order to succeed in a business, it is necessary to encompass relevant information regarding assessment of a business idea, developing a strategy and a business plan, understanding the market, and acknowledging the financial aspects of a business. The orientation program will support potential Bahraini entrepreneurs who are willing to build a solid foundation for their new project. Proper training and guidance is required to fully nourish the entrepreneurs with significant information that will aid them in starting their business and succeeding in the future. The orientation training program will allow the entrepreneurs to understand how to develop a business plan, analyze the market, manage their financials, and consider new ideas of enhancing the business. This will intensify their managerial skills and business knowledge and above all the entrepreneurial spirits leading to creation of successful businesses thereby contributing to the economic development of Bahrain.
Training Content, Duration and Methodology
The training will cover all the basic aspects of entrepreneurship, business idea generation, business planning, implementation and management. The proposed duration of orientation training is one week to be conducted in the afternoon for 3 hours duration each day (4:00 – 7:00 pm). In all it will be a 15 hour training module. This will facilitate participation of young university students after they finish their study as well as many young working executives who may wish to take up the entrepreneurial career. The training methodology adopted will be highly participative whereby use of presentations, discussions, simulation exercises is ensured to facilitate maximum learning.
APPLICATIONS
As per Government’s preferential procurement policy approved by Union applicationsCabinet Ministry, Public Sector Units (PSUs) are asked to give preference to micro and small entrepreneurs (MSEs), while making purchases. As per the Public Procurement Policy for goods produced and services rendered by MSEs by the Central industries / departments / PSUs to be notified under Sec. 11 of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act, 2006, all Central ministries and PSUs will have to ensure that a minimum 20 per cent of all their total annual purchases of products or services are from MSEs. After the enactment of MSMED Act 2006, Service Enterprises having EM-II acknowledgement can also be registered under Govt. Purchase Programme.
