Objective
To have uniform standing act in respect to worker, factories and working relationship
To ensure that the term and conditions are known to employees so0 that it will help to reduce exploitation
To promote industrial peace & harmony by promoting fair industrial practices.
Standing order
Rules relating to working in factory which are mentioned in schedule to act
Schedule of act talks about;
Holiday
working hours, shift and transfer
Attendance and late coming rules
Leave rule
Leave eligibility and leave condition
Termination of employment, suspension , dismissal etc.,.
Classifications of workers (casual;, permanent, skilled etc.,.)
Coverage
The act is applicable to all industrial establishment employing 100 or more workmen [Section 1(3)]

Amendmented by Maharashtra by MH act 54 of 1974 and many other states
Procedure
Group of employer may submit one common draft of same industrial establishment
Draft should submit 5 draft copies of standing order within 6 month from the date on which this act become applicable to certifying officers.
provision should be the every matter which may be applicable to industrial establishment.
Draft send to union and they can take objection within 15 days.
Certifying officers will decide whether it need any change or not
Certifying officers will send copy of order with modification within 7 days,
Appeal
Employer, workman, union or prescribed representative can apple within 30 days from the date on which copies are send under sub section (3) of that section
Final draft within 7 days
Final copy is kept is record of certifying officers and anyone can get it by paying applicable fees
Final draft is posted in entrance of factory.
