Integrated management of rice sheath blight caused by Rhizoctonia solani
ABSTRACT
In vitro studies to test the efficacy of various treatments for the management of rice sheath blight revealed that Trichoderma viride 3 isolate, leaf extract of Drek and among fungicides Saaf, carbendazim and Vitavax were most effective in inhibiting mycelia growth of Rhizoctonia solani. On the basis of in vitro studies, the best fifteen different combinations were evaluated under field conditions and it was found that the treatment comprising of seedling dip method by Trichoderma viride 3 isolate and subsequently three foliar spray of Drek extract, Saaf and Vitavax at fifteen days interval from initiation of disease recorded the least incidence of 20.9 per cent and severity of 9.2 per cent coupled with maximum yield of 52.1 q ha-1
