Abstracts: Deployment of VoIP is a major & challenging task for Data network researcher & Designer. These days a massive deployment of VoIP is taking place on data network. Most of these networks are Ethernet based and running on IP protocol. It is very interesting and cost effective to merge voice and data network into one. It is easier to run, manage and maintain. The main project is to deploy the VoIP server & integrating it with different Application. The Project is divided into different phases. In initial phase , we have to find the requirement for the project. It contains analysis of different codecs (G.711, G.729, G.723 etc), calculation of Number of voice call supported by a server, calculation of Bandwidth required for a single call (depends on which codec we use) , Protocols (SIP, H.323,IAX,MGCP etc) , listing different feature supported by the server etc. In the next phases, we have to deploy the VoIP server (Asterisk) ,deploy the different features in Asterisk server. The main Features are IVR (Interactive Voice Response), different Dial plan, Call Parking, Voicemail, Conferencing, Distinctive Ring group, Time based Rules, Call Recording, Call Detail Record, Call Transfer, Call Blocking etc. Communication between two asterisk server is possible by using protocol IAX (Inter-Asterisk eXchnge).We have to integrate the two asterisk server together. Also we have to integrate Asterisk server with different Applications (Gtalk). Integrating Asterisk with Gtalk makes it possible to call from gtalk to softphone and vice versa. By integrating all this things into single server is the main goal of the project. The server with intergration of all these features makes it PBX (Private Branch Exchange) which is useful for a business solution.
