ABSTRACT:
Evidence of Artificial Intelligence folklore can be traced back to ancient
Egypt, but with the development of the electronic computer in 1941, the
technology finally became available to create machine intelligence. The term
artificial intelligence was first coined in 1956, at the Dartmouth conference,
and since then Artificial Intelligence has expanded because of the theories
and principles developed by its dedicated researchers.
Artificial Intelligence, or AI for short, is a combination of computer science,
physiology, and philosophy. AI is a broad topic, consisting of different
fields, from machine vision to expert systems. One of the most challenging
approaches facing experts is building systems that mimic the behavior of the
human brain, made up of billions of neurons, and arguably the most complex
matter in the univers. Artificial Intelligence has come a long way from its
early roots, driven by dedicated researchers.
INTRODUCTION:
The term Artificial Intelligence (AI) mean "the science and engineering of making
intelligent machines”. It can also refer to intelligence as exhibited by an artificial (man-
made, non-natural, manufactured) entity.
Concern:
Research in AI is concerned with producing machines to automate tasks requiring
intelligent behavior. Examples include control, planning and scheduling, the ability to
answer diagnostic and consumer questions. The study of AI has also become an
engineering discipline, focused on providing solutions to real life problems, knowledge
mining, software applications, and strategy games like computer chess and other video
games
APPLICATIONS:
Artificial intelligence found in many applications like:
Cybernetics
Business
Robotics
Cybernetics:
Cybernetics means "the art of ensuring the efficacy of action". It is the study of
communication and control in living organisms, machines and organizations. Its focus is
how anything (digital, mechanical or biological) processes information, reacts to
information and changes or can be changed to better accomplish the first two tasks.
Business:
• Banks:
Banks use artificial intelligence systems to organize operations, invest in stocks, and
manage properties.
