Abstracts: Sheet metalworking is an important process in many industry segments. Today, its application is everywhere in the industry. The overall industrial growth in the recent past has given a new dimension to this sector. Fast growing industries segments like automotive have fuelled the growth opportunities of sheet metalworking. However, in other areas, sheet metalworking is still in its early stage… Sheet metal machines are use in industries for a performing wide variety of operations, including cutting, bending, punching, lancing, and notching, trimming operations. There are many different types of sheet metal machines. The most commonly used are cutting, bending and punching machine. The greatest advantage of multipurpose sheet metal machine is their more efficient, time saving, cost effective, user friendly, simple and with many other features. Expected outcomes from a multipurpose sheet metal machine are reduction of space requirement for the manufacturing of the product, reduction of manufacturing time for a product, reduction of manufacturing cost, reduction of labor, reduction in power consumption, and increase in productivity. The aim of our project is to study the different processes that are undertake in forming and to design a machine that has the ability to perform most of the manufacturing processes.
