INTRODUTION
This workshop is a public sector industry which is governed by the workshop manager who is appointed by a central govt. . He is responsible for every action in workshop. The investment for the industry is done by central govt. .Initially the workshop was concerned with the manufacturing & maintenance of steam engine , Now the steam engine is out dated so the workshop has adopted a new line of action , Maintenance of railway wagons & steam engine some parts used in diesel locomotives.

To maximize customer satisfaction through continuous improvement in the quality of our products & services and strive for continuous improvement in productivity.
QUALITY – OBJECTIVES
1) Insuring compliance to out turn target.
2) Controlling M & P breakdown with in 2.5% of the total available M & P.
3) Ensuring compliance to requirement of the documented quality system & periodic verification through internal quality audits.
4) Reduction in customer complaints.
5) Reduction in “In – Service Failure “ attributable to workshop.
6) Regular training to employees to improve work environment of skills & motivational level.
7) To reduce total cost by up gradation of technology.
SAFETY MEASURES
Never be careless while working in workshop.
Never go without shoes in workshop.
Always wear tight clothes while working on machine.
Workshop floor should be free from grease & oil.
Tools & other object should be placed at proper place.
Never work on any machine without proper training or guidance.
Always use goggles or face shield , gloves etc while welding.
Gas cylinder should be placed away from fire.
MACHINE SHOP
In this shop all kinds of machining is done to obtain the correct size & shape of the job. Besides , machining of steel job , aluminum plates are also machined here. Machining is other performed manually or on automatic machines.
There are three types of automatic machine-
N.C Machine ( Numerically Controlled )
C.N.C Machine ( Computerized Numerically Controlled)
D.N.C Machine ( Direct Numerically Controlled)
