Fruit & Vegetable Processing Sector

The sector includes processing of all fruits and vegetables including food flavours/additives, colors, oleoresins, spices, coconut products, integrated mushroom projects* ( mushroom cultivation with processing / canning /dehydration/Frozen etc), Honey processing*, hops extraction etc.
* Mushroom cultivation without processing not eligible
* Bee keeping part not eligible
ASSISTANCE & ELIGIBILITY UNDER THE SCHEME
25% of the cost of plant & machinery and technical civil works subject to a maximum of Rs.50 lakhs in general areas and 33% up to Rs.75 lakh in difficult areas (Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, North-Eastern States, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP) areas).
Eligibility for Grant (contd…)
Only new Plant & Machinery shall be eligible. Technical civil works include civil works for functional purposes and shall exclude boundary wall, office buildings, guest house, canteen, toilets and roads etc.
An indicative list of ineligible items of Technical Civil Works and Plant & Machinery has already been provided in the guidelines
Labour Cost / installation/transportation costs if shown separately to be excluded
Guiding principle should be that the items should be related to production and not for any non-technical or disguised use.
A company or any of its sister concerns / interconnected company can avail Grant for only two projects in the F&VP sector
Second grant for expansion /modernization at the same location not permitted
Availing grant for different components of the project by splitting it up not permitted (e.g processing line and spray drying in the same integrated project)
Availing grant from multiple agencies for the same purpose / activity not permitted. Affidavit to be obtained.
