Multi Level Marketing
INTRODUCTION
Multi-level marketing
MLM is embracing more and more arenas today. Multi Level Marketing is a
business model that combines direct marketing with franchising. Multi-level marketing
businesses function by recruiting salespeople (also called Distributors, Independent
Business Owners, Franchisee Owners, Sales Consultants, Beauty Consultants,
Consultants, etc.) to sell a product and offer additional sales commissions based on the
sales of people recruited into their down line. This arrangement is similar to Franchisee
arrangements where royalties are paid from the sales of individual Franchisee operations
to the franchisor as well as to an area or region manager.
Network Marketing / MLM is the sale of a consumer product or service, person-
to-person, away from a fixed retail location, basically a home based business. These
products and services are marketed to customers by independent sales consultants.
Depending on the company, the salespeople may be called distributors, consultants or
various other titles. Products are sold primarily through personal relationships and one-
on-one retailing.
System analysis:
The process of system analysis is the application of the system’s approach for
problem solving using computers. The ingredients are system elements, processes and
technology. It means that one has to understand the system concept and how
organizations operate as system, and then design appropriate computer based system that
will meet an organizations requirements. It is actually a customized approach to the use
of the computer for problem solving. System Analysis works with users to identify goals
and build systems to achieve them.
For the purpose of feasibility study, we need to consider the economic, technical
and behavioral factors in system development. The team develops system flow charts that
identify the characteristics of candidate system, evaluate performance of each system,
and weigh system performance and cost data and select the best candidate system for the
job. Data gathering, traditional or structured is only part of the system analysis. The next
steps are examining the data gathered, assessing the situation, looking at the alternatives
and recommending a solution. The best system is taken after considering the cost and
benefits of the alternate system.
Existing system
In the existing system, all the documents are paper work which is handled
manually. In this case, there is a chance of getting documents corrupted. Moreover in the
existing system there is always a possibility that anybody can read the documents. There
are no rights set for the different users accessing each documents. There is no option in
the existing system to provide security for the data being transferred from one user to
another. Existing system may prove to be inefficient if the data cannot be handed over to
the correct person. The concept used in the existing system may be time consuming.
There might not be any security algorithms used in the existing system. Tracking of
documents is difficult. There is no report generation. There is no facility to know what all
document types are there. There might not be any security algorithms used in the existing
system. The payments, passing the cheques, calculation of commission to the concerned
people. Requesting and providing the coupons. Creating and handling the down line. All
these operations are done manually which is quite hectic. And there is no proper source to
provide information regarding the products management, plans, events, news, contact
details, terms & conditions, profile updating facility for customers, policies. So the
current manual system is not completely capable of performing multi-level marketing
operations.
Proposed system
The proposed system should be capable of overcoming the problems in the
existing system. It should satisfy the needs of the end users. All the requirements should
be considered while developing the new system. New system should be able to corporate
new changes. The proposed system will be developed using MS access as the back end
and ASP.net as front end tools.
The proposed system is a website which solves all the problems of the manual working
system. Payments, passing of cheques, calculation of commission, requesting and providing the
coupons all these are done automatically. Along with these creation and maintenance of nodes
customer Centre details (visualization, sales vision, history, editing, reporting).Node listing
(position of the customer in the tree structure). Facility to update customer profile. About the
company’s products, plans, meetings, events, policies, contact information, terms & conditions
as far as it is concerned with distributors/users. Creation of distributor or franchise. Down line
managements, displaying of achievers list updates, production management, news & events,
management of scheduling the business meetings as far as it is concerned with the
administrator and franchises
