The project comprises of two parts. The first part is a multitenant musical game (Antakshari) which can be played via mobile phones through IVR. The second part, i.e. the Operations Management Interface was created to manage the company's daily service logs and provide an easy access to it for the Managers (Non-Technical Staff).
Antakshari:
A mobile game is a video game played on a feature phone, smartphone, PDA, tablet computer, portable media player or calculator. This does include games played on dedicated handheld video game systems such as Nintendo 3DS or PlayStation Vita. Typically mobile games use one of the following business models: pay-per-download, subscription, free-to-play or advertising. Until recently, the main option for generating revenues was a simple payment on downloading a game. Subscription business models also existed and had proven popular in some markets (notably Japan) but were rare in Europe. Today, a number of new business models have emerged which are often collectively referred to as “freemium”. The game download itself is typically free and then revenue is generated after download either through in-app transactions or advertisement. App marketing has become critical to the success of mobile games. The project aims to create a musical mobile game which is multitenant. Here the user can take a musical quiz in a very traditional manner and also play karaoke to those songs. The mobile application will be live via IVR and WAP with most telecom operators. It will be deigned and hosted using Java Hibernate, VXML and MySQL Server. The project will be hosted on the company’s servers and short codes. For revenue the project will be using a pay per use model where the user pays as and when he is using the application. The charges will be nominal and charging will be done by the Telecom Operator. The project is a collaboration of three big brands- SAREGAMA India Ltd., Sensibol Audio Technologies Pvt. Ltd and Altruist Technologies Pvt. Ltd. Here SAREGAMA is responsible for the content part of the project, Sensibol is responsible for the checking and marking of the karaoke files and Altruist is responsible for the product, development and platform part of the application. Operations Management Interface: A management information system (MIS) provides information that organizations require to manage themselves efficiently and effectively. Management information systems are typically computer systems used for managing. The five primary components: 1.) Hardware, 2.) Software, 3.) Data (information for decision making), 4.) Procedures (design, development and documentation), and 5.) People (individuals, groups, or organizations). Management information systems are distinct from other information systems because they are used to analyze and facilitate strategic and operational activities. Academically, the term is commonly used to refer to the study of how individuals, groups, and organizations evaluate, design, implement, manage, and utilize systems to generate information to improve efficiency and effectiveness of decision making, including systems termed decision support systems, expert systems, and executive information systems. .This project also aimed to create an automated system to generate MIS. Also it helps in checking the currently active services against an ANI. The interface helps in keeping track of the customer care executives and agents or the B and C party agents. The project was created using Java Prime Faces and My SQL database. The project has two phases of development; the first phase of development has been completed. The second phase consists of adding more functionalities to this system and making the MIS process completely automated. All most all the technologies used are free and open source which further helps in reducing the development cost of the project.
