Objective:
1) Workers committee will act as a mediator between the management and workers
2) To Develop democracy among the workers and management representative
3) WC as to maintain proper discipline and code of conduct inside the factory
4) Resolving Grievances between the workers and management
5) To build relationship among workers Representative,& Management Representative
Scope:
The provisions of these rules and procedures shall be applicable to all LU Employees to provide conducive working environment.
WORKS COMMITTEE – Definition & Meaning:
WORKS COMMITTEE - consist of various categories , groups, and classes of the workmen engaged in and to the sections ,shops or departments of the establishment .( Representative of the employer and Representative of the workers )
Composition of Committee:
This committee shall composite of 33 Representatives from both Management & Workers. Out of which ……… are Worker’s Representatives and …………Two (2) are Management Representatives. One is HR – VGM Manager and the other one is from ER Manager and HR -Manager……………..
• HR- VGM Manager shall act as the chair person of the committee. In the absence of the chairperson, other MR shall act as acting chairperson and shall have all the powers of the chairperson.
• A member shall be Competent person to handle the Grievance and redreassal handling .
• The works Committee shall meet at least once in a month
Functions & Responsibility of works committee :
1. The committee will be the sole group for dissolving work related issues representing all the workers in the factory.
2. The committee will discuss the grievances with the Management in a cordial manner without affecting the production and regular operation inside the factory and to take all decisions keeping the welfare of the workers in mind and resolve all issues amicably with the Management.
3. Workers who are going to be elected shall be a person, with clear records in the past and should have a cordial relationship with the co-workers and the Management team.
4. Workers who are going to be elected should not have involved in any misconduct and any disciplinary action by the Management.
5. The committee member should have knowledge about the existing labour enactments in force and also confined the demands within the legal frame works of the labour enactments.
6. All decisions taken by the committee and the Management shall be binding on all the workers.
7. The decision taken by the majority members will be binding on the committee.
8. Announcement form and Nomination Form will be available at HR/ER Department between 12 pm to 2pm.
9. Eligible candidates(CONFIRMED/PROBATION WORKER) are required to file their nominations with HR Director(Mr.G.Sethu)/ER Director (Mr.P.Sivasamy)
Works committee- Grievances Enquiry:
• All the Grievances shall be Reviewed by Management Representative and give Suggestions For the continuous improvement - MR (ER/CR/BOD/Works Committee Member)
Redressive Action:
• The top management shall take appropriate redressive action in compliance with the certified company standing order. If it finds that there are lacunae in the report, then it shall be ordered for a review the enquiry report or to conduct the enquiry with external enquiry officer.
